IKD Ecosystem and Fintech's Obligation to Collaborate with Indonesian Companies

The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has established OJK Regulation No. 13/POJK.2/2018 which creates a Digital Financial Innovation ecosystem in the Financial Services sector. The purpose of the regulation is to facilitate the supervision of the Fintech Industry.

Companies engaged in supporting Fintech Providers such as Aggregator, Credit Scoring, E-KYC, Financial Planner, Financing Agent, Funding Agent, Insurance Hub, Insurtech, Online Distress Solution, Property Investment Management, RegTech E-Sign, RegTech PEP (AML), Authentication Services, and Wealth Tech can register to the OJK to become part of the IKD Ecosystem to facilitate the service provider company in collaborating with Fintech Company.

In 2022 OJK issued POJK No. 10/POJK.5/2022 on Layanan Pendanaan Bersama Berbasis Teknologi Informasi as a regulation that replaced the previous POJK on Fintech.

Fintech is currently only able to cooperate with third parties that are established as Indonesian Legal Entities and have appropriate legality as stipulated in article 19 of POJK 10/2022.

Article 38 POJK 10/2022 also explains that Fintech in Indonesia can only cooperate with Parties that have been registered, licensed or equivalent at OJK and other authorized authorities.

Based on this matter, it is assumable that companies that provide services to the Fintech ecosystem which will cooperate with Fintech in Indonesia are required to register and be part of the ecosystem in IKD OJK.
